"Horses are strange and compelling, mysterious and still affectionately familiar. Like other things in life, they can appear straightforward unless you look very closely, unless you spend a specific type and amount of time with them. In my work I paint them as specific individuals as well as use them to express what is unseen, mystical and imagined. My artistic influences include ancient Egyptian tomb art and 20th century American abstract expressionism."

Sharron's current work is inspired by Bright Angel Trail, the legendary footpath that descends 5,500 ft. into the floor of the Grand Canyon and is still the only access there. Horses, burros and mules have worked the trail in the past and mules still make the daily round-trip today.

Sharron was born in 1956 in Los Angeles, CA. She is married to Russ Evans and they have lived in Utah for more than 30 years. Since 1991 they have lived on Birch Creek Ranch, 200 isolated acres that was a Native American wintering ground and later a pioneer homestead. Sharron has lived with horses, burros and mules throughout her adult life. She and Russ have three daughters, two son-in-laws and three grandsons.
